North Cascades Diablo Lake Elopement

Jen and Amber’s North Cascades Diablo Lake Elopement was a true elopement. They planned it secretly and none of their family knew about it. Neither had been to the northwest before so I helped them plan from their home in the Midwest. Jen had planned most of it in secret to surprise Amber with a “trip with friends.” Once all the details were booked Amber let the cat out of the bag and of course Amber was stoked. Neither wanted the attention of a big wedding and we were able to sneak their elopement in before the big snows started coming down in the North Cascades. Diablo Lake In North Cascades National Park is a rad spot for a small wedding/elopement.

Mountain Peaks and Heartbeats

I wasn’t sure where they wanted to elope. They North Cascades have so many options. Amber squared up the permit and decided on Diablo Lake. I also suggested Artist Point which is probably my favorite location in the North Cascades that doesn’t involved some serious hiking. Diablo is also extremely accessible. As always, I recommend weekdays if you’re going to more popular spots but weekends are great for areas that require a bit of hiking to get to. Usually after a mile you lose most crowds if not all. I was just recently informed that they had closed Diablo’s overlook so it looks like I’ll have to get to scouting some more locations in the area. Definitely reach out if you want a fun, outdoors filled elopement and I’ll be happy to talk locations and give you some sasquatch facts. 🙂

If you’re wanting to elope have an intimate wedding or an engagement session up in the North Cascades send me a line and get in touch. The North Cascades are hands down the prettiest mountain locations on the west coast.
