David and Monica had a beautiful Hug Point Oregon Coast Elopement. The weather was typical for this time of year. Clouds and rain. To be completely honest we were super lucky with the weather. The day before was absolute downpours and would have been nearly impossible to photograph outside. The steady drizzle on their Hug Point elopement was a welcomed change. You can check out weather averages for Oregon here if you’re starting to plan an elopement. Winter is always a gamble but an often rewarded one.

Hug Point is just south of the all famous Cannon Beach. It part of the Arch Cape area on the coast. At low tide it’s an amazing little elopement location. The rainy season causes one of the creeks to turn into a waterfall and the whole area has great little sea caves and sea stack(rocks). BUT at high tide most of the beach is impossible to get to because it’s under water so if you’re planning an elopement here double check the tidal charts!

The day before I had an elopement in the North Cascades. On the drive down it was nothing but rain and I got to their Airbnb extra early just to talk about contingency plans if Hug Point was going to be rained out. Luckily there’s a few great forest locations very close that provide a bit of shelter while still being an amazing backdrop. Monica and David didn’t mind a bit of rain though and embraced the Oregon weather. My job is so much easier when couples go with the flow and make the best of out of things. On the bright side we were rewarded with a beautiful sunset that night which was a welcomed surprise after a day full of clouds and drizzle. Always stoked be able to do what I do with awesome couples like Monica and David.
