This Columbia River Gorge Elopement makes me so thankful I live close to all of these amazing locations. Adam and Nicole were about as easy to work with as any couple I’ve had the pleasure photographing. Adam runs a CDB seltzer company here in town and takes their dog Riley with him to work. Riley quickly became a good buddy on the wedding day. Absolutely wonderful pupper.

When they initially booked we were looking at locations up on Mt. Hood. One of which was the Tilly Jane A-Frame but that was booked out for months unfortunately. They wanted something easy but beautiful and Government Cove just outside of Cascade Locks in the Columbia River Gorge certainly fits the bill. It’s a small island you can drive on which gives you expansive views of the gorge with little effort on the hiking side of thing. It’s a great location for people who have family members with mobility issues that still want to participate. I should note its also owned by the Native Warm Springs Tribe so please be respectful if you come out here on your own time. Pick up some trash on the way out if you get a chance too.

Nicole got Adam her dad’s old Rolex and had it refurbished as a wedding present. Needless to say he was super stoked on it. They now both have Rolex watches to match. I love that they wanted to keep things simple and light. Their friends came along to be a part of the day and help out. One perform the ceremony, the other dutifully watched the dog and helped keep things organized. They were all super rad to work with and it’s one of those elopements that reminds me why I enjoy elopements vs tradition weddings. They’re fun, full of joy and little to no stress. Guessing that’ll be the last sunset at a wedding for awhile. The rains have begun. Glad to have been a part of it.
