Coyote Wall - Hood River Engagement

Hood River Engagement Cover

This Coyote Wall engagement really shows how much variety in landscape there is in the Columbia River Gorge. Coyote Wall is a popular hike just across the river from Hood River. Most of the time I’m shooting with waterfalls or lush moss and fern covered forest so shooting on the dry side of the gorge was an absolute delight.

Coyote Wall is easily accessed by crossed the toll bridge at Hood River and driving east for a few minutes. The AllTrails app is a great way to find it but it’s pretty hard to miss when you know what you’re looking for. We didn’t hike to the top but many do and the view is incredible. It’s also a great spot for wildflowers in the late spring.

High Desert and High Fives

Briana and Keith asked if they could bring their dog. Obviously the answer to that question is always going to be yes with me. For the photos we only did a quick 15 minute hike from the trail head. High enough to get a view of the gorge and Mt. Hood but not so high we were all tired and sweating. There’s some really great vista’s on this side of the gorge and it photographs well because the Oregon side of the gorge is an incredible backdrop.

I like to keep my sessions laid back and fun so when they asked about bringing beer that was also a yes. They were even kind enough to give me one after we finished shooting. That’s what I love about these sessions. I get to really become friends with the couples and have that foundation makes the wedding day so much more fun and less stressful.
