Oregon Coast Engagement
This romantic Oregon coast engagement is one of the reasons I absolutely love shooting on the coast. This was photographed at the now temporarily closed Ecola State Park at Indian Beach. There was a landslide over the road into the park last year. If you’ve ever watched the most epic film ever made, Point Break, It’s where Bodhi catches his final wave. Whoa.
These two were building windmills out in central Washington when they contacted me about doing an engagement shoot before they moved back east for work. They wanted the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest with those rugged mountain vibes. Easy. Back before the park was shutdown this location was an easy 5 minute walk from the parking lot. Now we’ll just have to wait and see if/when it reopens.
Ocean Tides and Sea Spray
As usual I had them meet be about 2 hours before sunset. It’s always a gamble here if you’ll get a sunset at all with the sea fog and quick changing weather. We lucked out this day, that’s for sure. Neither one of them had been to the coast before yet so I was pretty stoked to be able to introduce them to the Oregon coast and all of it’s beauty.
On the way to the beach we stopped at one of my favorite little forest grove spots to capture the Fern Gully magic of the forests out here. It really is spectacular. We captured as much as we could on the rocks as the tide was out. Once it starts coming in you get some spectacular wave breaks and it’s really impressive.
If you’re wanting to elope or have an engagement on the coast please get in touch. I know all of the great spots and I’m happy to share the beauty of Oregon with you.
