Latourell Falls Covid Wedding

A Latourell Falls Covid Wedding wasn’t what I had planned last month, but this year has been anything but normal in terms of wedding plans. Most large weddings have downsized to a small elopement with a party planned for next year, hopefully covid-19 free.

Kat and Eric came in from Oklahoma and quarantined for two weeks before the ceremony. Everyone was instructed to wear a mask and most of the guests were members of the same household. It’s a wild time to even have to consider these measures, but, life goes on. We rocked out a simple and beautiful ceremony at one of my favorite elopement spots, Latourell Falls. Here’s a proposal I photographed there last year.  It had just opened so it was mostly empty of tourists. Multnomah was still closed but Bridal Veil and Latourell are now open to the public. Waterfalls make every photos better in my view.

Waterfalls and Wanderlust

If you know anything about me, you’ll know my favorite part of the wedding was the dogs. Anytime people include their dogs in the ceremony I’m a big fan. Everyone was so nice and honestly it just felt great to get out and photograph a family sharing love and enjoying a positive moment after so many negative ones this year.

After the ceremony the family went down to wine country for a social distanced and masked dinner/reception at Aurora Colony Vineyards which is a great little spot south of Portland.

Hope you guys enjoy this one and if you’re thinking of eloping get in touch, especially if you’re thinking about the Gorge or Latourell Falls. They’re one of my favorite weddings to photograph. I am beginning to focus more solely on elopements vs weddings. If you like rad spots, hiking, and celebrating your love in the great outdoors here in the Pacific Northwest let’s set up a time to talk over a beer or coffee.
