Coopers Hall Wedding
Industrial and dark vibes with this beautiful Coopers Hall wedding. Coopers Hall is a rad little venue with industrial modern styling on Portland’s east side. Think warehouse vibes with wine barrels all around. On a sunny day the natural light floods in and is absolutely a dream to work with. This wedding was my only night time ceremony of the year and had it’s challenges for lighting since I was solo(normally I’ll have an assistant).
Ben and Libby didn’t want getting ready photos and really wanted to focus on the friends and family having fun at the wedding. And boy did they all have a blast. Between just being a great group of people the dance floor was also burning up because the band was absolutely killing it that night!
String Lights and String Instruments
Libby and Ben got married during night time ceremony in the winter. Lighting was difficult to say the least. Trying to set up lights by yourself while running around photographing is no easy task, but hey I’m always up for a challenge. Luckily the venue itself is beautiful that that helped make up for having to run around and set up lights constantly. They also have beautiful Edison bulbs strung over the main area of the venue which gives it a really warm and industrial vibe.
Ben is a hobbyist photographer and asked if I would be willing to shoot some film. Of course I obliged. If you think shooting digital in the dark at a wedding is tough, try film! All fo the shots turned out pretty decent though so I was pretty pleased.
