Portland Waterfall Engagement

This Moody Portland Waterfall engagement had all the ingredients of a great shoot. Good people, waterfalls and motorcycles(this last one is optional). This time of year you really can’t predict the weather although you can almost bet on rain and cold. Still they rode the Harley in which was impressive since it was about 45 degrees and rainy out.

We started at Oneonta Gorge which has been closed for a few years since the big fire in the gorge. You can still stop at it by the road but you can’t hike in like before. It was a great spot to start and warm up with a coffee and blanket. From there we went down a bit to Horsetail Falls which is very close. There’s a great trail that starts here and you can hike under a waterfall if you are willing to put in about 15 minutes of hiking.

Harleys and Hugs

After the first two Oneonta Gorge corridor areas we headed to the main attraction for most people in the gorge: Multnomah Falls. We were pretty lucky this day because the weather was so cold and rainy the falls were fairly empty which is not normally the case. I typically won’t do photo shoots here unless it’s early morning because of the crowds. Today was a good day though. Multnomah is definitely an impressive view. It’s not my favorite to photograph because of the fencing but those wide shots are always impressive. B

By the time we finished shooting my couple was pretty much a popsicle. Absolute legends though to stick it out(and ride the bike back to Portland). If you want to talk about doing a waterfall engagement shoot let me know. There’s a few less populated areas in the gorge that have amazing views.

If you’re wanting to elope or have an engagement on the coast please get in touch. I know all of the great spots and I’m happy to share the beauty of Oregon with you.
