Portland Oregon Vineyard Engagement
This Portland Oregon vineyard engagement session rocked. Summer and Caleb contacted me wanted to do a vineyard engagement session. Since there isn’t a vineyard directly in town we decided to make a bit of a road trip and head about an hour south. The Willamette Valley is FULL of great wineries and we just picked one at random along the way. It was a cold day but sunny which is an uncommon thing this time of year. We decided to go inside and try some samples before starting the shoot. That seemed like the most logical thing to do. After trying a few samples and warming up we heading out into the grape vine fields. There were rows and rows of grape vines. I’ve always had a facisnation with grapes and their varieties. We have a large grape vine back home in upstate New York that has been growing for the better part of 70 years. It snakes it’s way through the forest and the treetops on the land where we have our cabin.
After taking some photos in the grape vines we were starting to get cold again, so back inside for more wine! After warming up with some nice red and a wood burning cast iron stove we headed back out to a field that was really close. They had just cleared it not too long ago so it was free of trees but had some beautiful straw growing it in that just glowed with the sunset that night. And what a perfect sunset it was. The light was so warm and soft, it’s what every photographer dreams of when they think about sunset. We finished up the shoot in that field catching the last bit of light before it dropped below the tree line and then headed over to do a few more shots in the grape vines before calling it a day with the shoot. Back inside we went to buy a few bottles for the road and we returned to Portland warm and happy.
