Portland Oregon Fashion Photography
This Portland Oregon Fashion photography shoot was done in studio which I know is a bit of a departure from what you’re normally used to seeing with my work. I really wanted to push myself creatively and branch out away from couples and weddings. The concept was super simple. I wanted neutral colors and earth tones. I decided to keep the lighting someone dark and moody. I didn’t want it to be too soft or look like your typical boring studio work like you the old portrait studios. The setup and shoot only took about two hours. I just bought a new film camera as well and so this shoot became double sided. I wanted to branch out into more fashion and studio work but also start shooting more film. I learned on film cameras, my grandma taught photography at my high school and I’m fairly well versed in it. But over the years I’ve gotten away from it almost completely, so on a whim the other day I bought a new film camera that works with all my autofocus lenses and took two rolls of cheap Fuji film. I’m really excited to see how they turned out. When I head to Europe this summer for a month I’m going to shoot a lot of rolls of film so the more practice I can get under me the less rusty I’ll be. I really look forward to shooting more in the studio and working with different brands and designers on collaborations to make their lifestyle/branding photos really come alive as inspiration for the brand.
If you’re interested in doing a studio shoot as opposed to an outdoor shoot let’s chat. We can achieve both looks in any location but having the studio really makes for easier control of light and weather is never a concern as it often is in Portland.
