Portland Oregon Editorial Fashion Photographer
So I’ve recently started doing more Portland Oregon Editorial Fashion Photographer shoots. It’s totally different than weddings. For years I worked lighting and grip in the film industry so being able to utilize lighting setups once again is really something I enjoy. On a wedding day it’ so fast paced you don’t really have a ton of time to get the lighting just right. Instead you just make the best out of the situation you’re given and run onto the next shot. Shooting more editorial and fashion work gives me the chance to slow down and really utilize the lighting which I am loving. I’ve got a few shoots lined up next week for modeling agencies and I’m hoping to keep doing this work in the future because there’s so much creative input you have. For this shoot we just wanted to focus on the flower crown which was made by a local florist. Every year there is a big festival called the Azalea Festival and I thought it would be really fun to make the crown out of those flowers since I haven’t ever seen anyone else do it before. We photographed this shoot at a local park which typically has a ton of the azalea flowers in bloom this time of year. Unfortunately there was only one bush that had any left as the warm weather caused them to bloom early. We started the shoot in front of the one bush that had the flowers and quickly moved along to some other setups. Like I said, this shoot was mainly to focus on the flower crown so it wasn’t a super creative concept but rather straight forward. Good light, good model, good wardrobe and styling and bam. Can’t wait to shoot more editorial fashion work. I’ll be in the studio twice next week before my wedding and on the road quite a bit in the coming months. Looking forward to all this year has in store.
