Portland Oregon Editorial Fashion Photographer
Doing more Portland Oregon editorial fashion photographer work is definitely in the mix. I’ll be heading out west at the very end of the year after a trip to the Phillipines with a few clients in December. I’ve mainly been a wedding photographer for the last three years but I’ve recently started shooting fashion/editorial shots for a model agency. I love it. It’s so much slower paced than a wedding and you can really take the time to develop ideas, get the right lighting, model, wardrobe and shooting location. Weddings are a lot more run and gun and make the best out of any situation photographically speaking. Haley(the model) was so easy to work with. She reminds me of a young Cindy Crawford. I picked out the dress so I hope you all like it(seriously). I’m new to this styling part but I really enjoy it. We shot down on the river underneath one of the bridges. It was so windy and with the traffic above us we could barely hear each other when trying to talk. I felt really bad for my assistant who had to hold onto my light modifier which is windy conditions turns into a 50 inch wide kite basically. She did a heck of a job holding on. The lighting was really bright that day so we embraced it. Often times I have a certain look I’m going for when I shoot outdoors. Sometimes the lighting doesn’t cooperate. In this case it did and I was able to get that really bright contrasty look in a lot of the shots. If you’re in the Portland area and looking to build up your portfolio or if you’re a brand looking to do some lifestyle and editorial-esque shoots feel free to get ahold of me and we can talk concepts and really create something awesome.
