Moody Boudoir Photographer Portland Oregon
Moody boudoir photographer Portland Oregon, that’s me. Stylistically anyway. I finally photographed my first boudoir session. Being a guy it’s something that typically a lot of don’t do. I wanted to break down that wall and start pushing into more personal creative barriers that needed to be knocked down. I knew two things going into this shoot. The first, is that I wanted it to be moody. I LOVE dark, dramatic light. The second is that I had no expectations. When I photograph a wedding I have a certain standard I hold myself up to and you don’t always have a ton of time to experiment or push yourself creatively because you have to nail certain shots. With this shoot she let me have free creative reign. I will say I didn’t post all the photos I would have liked to because of nudity/implied nudity. Gotta keep the blog somewhat family friendly for everyone. The weather that day really helped with the shoot as well. When we started it was pouring down rain outside. The clouds had settled in and it was just dreary but the light was incredibly soft a dark. By the end of the shoot the sun had broken through and we were able to play with shadows and highlights a bit more than at first. I did very minimal retouching on these images. I wanted to keep them as natural as possible and with that show that you don’t have to be photoshopped to death to be beautiful. Capturing someone comfortable in their own skin really helps and I think that shines through in this shoot. We did a few different looks as well. My favorite being the first couple of photos you’ll see and the brown shawl towards the end. The earth tones really just worked well with the room and the light we had.
Starting January 15th I’ll be taking bookings for boudoir in the Portland, Oregon area. This is completely new and I’ll be expanding on it hopefully in the future. So if you like this session and you think you’d want to work together please contact me at anytime.
