Garden of the Gods Wedding Shoot

This Garden of the Gods wedding Colorado shoot out in Colorado Springs was a blast. I was out there to photograph an engagement session and hold an event with Natural Retreats who are a high end vacation rental company that specialize in the experience not just the home. Attabel, the girl in the photos is a previous bride of mine who just relocated to Colorado. I stayed with her and her husband for a few nights after my other engagement shoot which I’ll blog later that was up in Boulder, CO. She always wanted to do a mountain bridal shoot since they weren’t living in Colorado when I photographed their wedding. This is definitely on the more boho/whimsical style but that’s what she wanted and I really liked her direction. The dress was from H&M and wasn’t expensive at all. That’s a good thing too because those red rocks will stain anything white. On the way in from the parking lot we saw a white husky that had completely red paws from the dirt. It was awesome

Red Rock and Blue Skies

The idea for the shoot was really just to capture the feel of Garden of the Gods and have Attabel be a part of that backdrop. This was less about details and more about capturing the scenery which we had to work with. As many of you know I love shooting outdoor locations and being able to harness nature’s beauty to utilize in my photography. This place was perfect for it. We found a little canyon in the back of the park that had less people and shot most of it there. The park get’s pretty busy so if you plan on shooting there I definitely recommend a weekday rather than the weekend. I can’t wait to get back out to Colorado for work again. It’s an absolutely stunning state. Be sure to stay tuned for my other Colorado blog posts!
