Beaufort SC Wedding At The Castle
This Beaufort SC wedding at the castle just outside of Charleston SC wedding was as simple, beautiful and low country as it gets. Held at an old “castle” near Charleston it was one of those antebellum vibes that you just have to experience. The girls at Plum Productions did an amazing job as always planning, coordinating and designing Jos and Porter’s big day. Jos asked me to get most of the posed and formal photos out of the way before the ceremony so they could just relax and talk with their family and friends after. They didn’t plan on having a party, dance floor or any of the usual suspects you see at a reception. Instead they enjoyed some really good beers, listened to a blue grass band plan and enjoyed a nice dinner on the houses porch that was beautifully laid out. I’ll be honest, my favorite part about this wedding other than the super low key and not traditional vibe was that they wanted their dogs a part of their big day. I LOVE dogs. So to be able to hang out with their pups and photograph them as part of the ceremony and throughout the day was really awesome. I knew right away when I heard they wanted their dogs in the ceremony that we were going to get along great. I do wish we had more time for just one on one photos because the area is stunning and it would have been great to be able to capitalize on the surroundings a bit more but I’m still very happy with how everything turned out. If you’re going to do a southern wedding, the low country is where you should have it. It just exudes beauty and timelessness. Jos and Porter recently moved out to Portland Oregon which is really awesome because as most of you already know I’ll be moving out there as well at the end of the year to enjoy the scenery Oregon has to offer. I still really look forward to working back here on the east coast and Charleston in particular.
